Two weeks of ministry in seven churches and one school! It is difficult to describe the wonderful experience. This was my fourth trip to Nicaragua, but it was very different from the others. The manifestation of God\'s presence and power was greater than before. At Canaan Assemblies of God in San Ramón, it was exciting to see the spiritual and numerical growth. My hosts, Pastors Moses and Connie Hernandez labour tirelessly in that area where poverty is great. Some of the houses are covered with plastic to keep out the rain. They started the church and a Christian school a few years ago. The theme for three services was Freedom In Christ - Freedom from the bondage of sin, from oppression and traditions. The Holy Spirit touched peoples' lives and we had a blessed time. One man testified later that after hearing the messages, he made a bonfire and burned up all his ungodly music [just like in Acts 19]. Praise the Lord! Christian Salvage Mission of Hamilton donated 34 Spanish New Testaments which were given to those youth who had no Bibles. Of course, they were very happy. The teachers were delighted to get toiletries and $10 US each. Their salary is $50 US per month, but if the parents do not pay the school fees the teachers are not paid. I was also able to give $20 US to the Administrator who receives no salary, and purchase a desk pencil sharpener for the school. All of that was possible because of the donations of kind friends in Canada. At the Baptist and Foursquare Gospel churches in Diriamba, the Lord moved mightily in our midst and I praise Him. In the capital city of Managua, I was hosted by the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, and spoke at four churches. It was my first time ministering in that city. We had great services. Seven individuals gave their lives to Jesus, including a little boy. One precious little girl, about 8 years of age wanted prayer to be a missionary when she grows up. I am glad a lot that you have come to this country and I have taken a lot of affection and I wanted you to stay so that we could converse so many things…I have learned so many things in these days that you have been here and I hope soon you visit us.\" Karen Juarez I give God praise for keeping me safe and for all that He did. People were saved, healed, filled with the Holy Spirit and set free from bondages and wrong traditions. All this was through His power and for His glory. Thanks to everyone who gave finances and prayed for the trip. God bless you richly as you continue to serve Him. Angela |
