Focus On The World

Trinidad – June 2010 Print E-mail

After almost six years God gave me the opportunity to return to Trinidad. It was a wonderful trip. My mother and one of my brothers joined me and it was great to have them along. We enjoyed being with many friends and family members and a short visit to Tobago.

Ministry in churches

God opened the doors to speak at five churches and a non-denominational prayer service.  It was a privilege to speak about my missionary work at the La Horquetta Tabernacle where the pastor is my former lecturer, the General Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies, Dr Pat Glasgow. What a great time of lively worship!

At Longdenville, Kelly Village and Guiaco I ministered at services and one seminar where the host pastors were Bible College colleagues. In Couva we were blessed at a mid-week miracle service. All the services were uplifting and the Holy Spirit touched lives as individuals came for prayer.

In San Fernando [my birthplace] it was an encouragement to see 80 plus individuals gathered on a Monday morning for a prayer service which lasted about four hours. The people who attend come from many different churches. We had a powerful time of prayer for the nation. God orchestrated it that there was another speaker who is from Hamilton, Ohio and our messages just merged together. The neat thing was this – the pastor who organizes the meetings expected the other lady the following week! At the end of the session my mother remarked, “The message was, “Pray for Trinidad and Tobago’”. The nation was just experiencing a transition of government and certainly prayer was needed. We also saw the great need for prayer in several areas of life in that land. But God is at work and we praise Him.

New Ministry Started

At Guiaco, the members rejoiced over the clothing and shoes that were donated from friends in Canada. Those items started a new ministry for the Women’s Department – distribution of humanitarian aid for the needy.

Thanks are extended to all who prayed for us on this trip. The Lord kept us safe and poured out His blessings.
